It can be hard to tell, especially in the early days, if what you are experiencing is a cold, or a flu, or simply allergies.

Experiencing bouts of sneezing and a runny nose is common this time of year. As allergy season ramps up, many people attribute these symptoms to allergies—but what if it’s actually a cold or the flu?

There are several telltale signs to look out for. In the video above, we speak with Dr. Michelle Cohen, a family physician in Brighton, Ont., and an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Queen's University, about how to differentiate between these conditions and the symptoms associated with each.
