Delays, closures across P.E.I. amid snowfall warning

Yellow snowfall warnings in effect for Kings and Queens counties

Weather conditions on P.E.I. have prompted delays and closures across the province Monday.

Environment Canada has issued a yellow snowfall warning for Kings and Queens counties, with about 15 cm of snowfall expected in total.

The Public Schools Branch and the French-language school board are closed for the day.

Island Montessori Academy campuses in Stratford and Cornwall are also closed.

UPEI has delayed opening until 12 p.m. at both the Charlottetown and St. Peter's Bay campuses. The AVC Veterinary Teaching Hospital will remain open for emergencies.

Holland College's West Prince and Summerside locations will open at 10:30 a.m. All other locations will remain closed for the day.

All provincial civil service offices in Queens, Charlottetown and Kings County areas have delayed opening until 12:30 a.m.

Provincial civil service offices in the East Prince area will open at 9:30 a.m.

Health PEI delays and closures are listed on the provincial health agency's website. It says Islanders with appointments at hospitals, clinics and other health care services should call ahead to confirm appointments, or notify staff if unable to make it.

Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre is closed for the day.

Charlottetown Meals on Wheels is cancelling all meal deliveries Monday.
