Alberta's weather whiplash will see temperatures go from 20°C to snow, a good reminder that winter is far from over!
Southern Alberta has experienced a string of near-summer-like days, with some regions climbing above 20°C multiple times this week. Lethbridge recorded two consecutive days over 20°C, with the potential for a third to close out the workweek. Calgary and other central areas also enjoyed mid-to-upper teens earlier in the week.

Mild temperatures continue this weekend for the south
Temperatures in southern Alberta will stay above seasonal this weekend, ranging from double digits to low teens on Saturday and Sunday. However, far northern communities like Fort McMurray, under the influence of a passing clipper, will face cold, icy, and snowy conditions.
A stark temperature gradient of up to 40°C spans Alberta between northern and southern areas.
Snow returns to southern Alberta next week
Early next week, snow is expected to return to extreme southern Alberta.
Moisture from a developing low pressure system over Montana Sunday into Monday may bring snow to areas along the southern foothills.
This system could create a sharp transition from the recent mild weather right back to winter conditions.
Alberta is forecast to experience colder-than-normal temperatures during the second half of February.
