Canada’s biggest 2025 wildfires roar to life. Here's where they are
There have been scores of wildfires across Canada this year so far, but where are the biggest blazes currently burning?
Several provinces have seen an uptick in wildfires in recent weeks as Canada's 2025 season is well underway.
B.C. and the Prairies have seen most of the wildfires, but a few have arisen on the East Coast, as well.

So, where in Canada are the biggest blazes occurring at the moment (as of May 10)?
Biggest wildfires in 2025 so far
Saskatchewan: Nearly 18,000-hectare fire burning northeast of Prince Albert.

Manitoba: 20,147 hectares currently burning from a wildfire near The Pas.
That wildfire is of particular concern, with hundreds of people displaced due to evacuations in the Regional Municipality of Kelsey, Man.

Incredibly, these two fires are responsible for more than half (54 per cent) of the entire area burned in Canada so far this year.
This time last year, 21 times more area had been burned in Canada--a large portion of that includes the destructive wildfires in Alberta.
