Shortly before 10:00 a.m. this morning, a major accident claimed the life of a pedestrian. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident. A man in his thirties tragically died following a collision involving a cube van and a tractor-trailer.
Two trucks
The accident occurred when the driver of the cube van, travelling northbound on Highway 117, lost control of his vehicle after an initial collision with the tractor-trailer. The truck then struck the victim head-on. The victim was outside his vehicle, which was stopped at the scene and contained a passenger.
Minor injuries
The three other people involved in the accident—the driver of the cube van, the driver of the tractor-trailer, and the victim's passenger—were taken to the hospital to be treated for shock.
