The Arctic air, driven by a lobe of the polar vortex, will cause a sharp temperature drop across the region.

Saturday will begin with the mildest conditions of the weekend, but temperatures will rapidly decline as the Arctic front passes and bitter northwesterly winds take hold. By Saturday evening, temperatures will plummet well below freezing and continue falling into Sunday.

Toronto will see temperatures drop from -6°C on Saturday evening to -18°C by Sunday evening, potentially marking the city’s coldest March temperature since 2015 (-18.9°C).

Meanwhile, Ottawa and Montreal may experience overnight lows of -20°C Sunday, with wind chills between -25 and -30.
