The severe thunderstorms during the past two days came courtesy of a low-pressure system that has been swinging across the Prairies, from north to south. The instability in the provinces fuelled the severe storms, which were triggered by the system's front that extended across both provinces.

An almost identical storm setup is taking shape on Sunday, with the chance of severe storms confined to the Aberta foothills and nearby areas, as well as in southern Saskatchewan.
