It was a stormy Friday evening in parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan, with several tornado warnings issued amid favourable conditions.
While nothing has been confirmed, many photos of funnel clouds have surfaced on social media. The severe weather also included hail, heavy downpours, strong winds and lightning.

The severe thunderstorms on Friday came courtesy of a low-pressure system in northern Alberta that swung across the province and into Saskatchewan.The instability in the provinces helped trigger thunderstorms along the system's fronts, extending across both provinces.
An almost identical storm setup is taking shape on Saturday, albeit more so in parts of Saskatchewan, with the chance of funnel clouds again.
