Road closures in effect for Springwater after weather event hits the Township
Significant snowfall brought hazardous road conditions to the Township of Springwater
The Township of Springwater is advising residents and motorists to stay off the roads and to stay home after the area was hit with a significant weather event.
The snowfall has led to temporary road closures and has left emergency services unable to reach certain areas. The local government has said that travelling at this time could significantly impact other drivers, snow removal and emergency services.
The Township is calling on all residents to remove all garbage and recycling carts from the sidewalks and roads to support ongoing snow removal efforts. Placing them weak back from both areas will make sure the carts aren’t damaged, displaced or pose a safety hazard to snow removal crews during the cleanup.

For any stranded drivers, the Elmvale Community Centre is currently operating as a warming centre, with anyone who is unable to continue driving safely encouraged to stay at the community centre.
